“We’ve offered Andy a contract. He’s come back, there’s been a counter offer, so we’ll go back again” he said (Daily Record).

“We’d like to try to get that over the line. We’ve been talking for a number of weeks. Andy has been playing very well for us, and we’d like to try and get him here for as long as possible” Neilson concluded.

Excellent form this season

Irving has been in excellent form for Hearts so far this season. He has made 12 appearances, and contributed three goals and five assists to the Hearts cause.

It shows you how well he has been playing when at the age of just 20, he has become one of the most important players in the Hearts squad.

That will be why Neilson is so eager to keep the player. He is the type of player that Hearts could build their team around in the future. Neilson and Hearts fans will be hoping to see a positive outcome to the talks sooner rather than later.
