Ross County have brought in  Jordan Tillson from Exeter City.

The midfielder has been a lengthy servant at St James’s Park, playing for the club since 2012. He has made 136 appearances but now he has opted for a move to the Highlands.

During his time at Exeter, Tillson almost helped them into League One. They were denied that feat by Blackpool in the 2016/17 play-off final. This season though, Tilson’s only made seven appearances in all competitions.

‘On the way up’

The new County man has cited his reasons for joining the Staggies. He says that they are a club with a positive future and that he can’t wait to get involved in SPFL action. Pending international clearance, he could make his debut away to Ayr United in the Scottish Cup this weekend.

Speaking on County’s Twitter, Tillson said: “It’s a club on the way up. It’s been sold to me in a really good way and everyone seems really friendly. Coming from a club like that, it’s been really easy for me to settle into. I want to play as many games as I can for the club.”

County have lost Simon Power this month after his return to Norwich City. Striker Brian Graham has been linked with a move to Partick Thistle too in recent times.

There’s been exit talk aplenty so Stuart Kettlewell and Steve Ferguson will be glad to have one in the door.
