Former Dundee United star Ryan Gauld is being watched by Celtic as a big-money offer arrives from Major League Soccer club Vancouver Whitecaps.
The MLS side are said to be in the driving seat to sign the attacking midfielder who has just completed an impressive season in Portugal with Farense. But Celtic interest in Gauld has forced Whitecaps to fast-track their offer (Transfermarkt).

It has now been reported that Whitecaps have offered Gauld £2 million per-year to entice him to swap continents (Courier). While Gauld is a free agent after his Farense deal expired, such wages offered by the MLS team would likely prove too much for Celtic to compete with.
Several clubs in England have also been linked with Gauld. The midfielder started his career at Dundee United and won several plaudits as a teenager, earning him a move to Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon. His time in Lisbon didn’t quite work out but he has rebooted his career at Farense and was one of the best players in Portugal last season.
