Hibernian forward Ryan Shanley has left the club on a temporary basis. The striker, who is 19-years-old, has moved to Lowland League side Kelty Hearts until the end of the season.

Shanley has made two first-team appearances for the Easter Road side this season. One of those was a start in the Betfred Cup against Forfar, whilst the other was a first league appearance as a late substitute against St Mirren.

Moved on in bid for regular football

Despite featuring on the bench regularly for Hibernian this season, the player has decided to move on in a bid to play regular football.

It was a move that was welcomed by Hibernian sporting director Graeme Mathie, who thinks that it will only benefit the player.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

“This is a great opportunity for Ryan to play in an ambitious, attack-minded team who are battling it out at the top end of their league” he said (Hibernian website).

“No doubt he’ll benefit”

“I’ve no doubt he’ll benefit from the regular game-time he hopes to enjoy, playing alongside a lot of good professionals under the direction of Barry Ferguson and his staff” he said

Hibernian boss Jack Ross will no doubt also be keeping an eye on the player’s progress. The fact that Shanley featured in the first-team squad so often this season shows that he seems to be keen on the player.

Therefore, Shanley will be hoping that with some regular game time at Kelty Hearts he will do enough to show the Hibernian boss that he should make more first-team appearances when he returns to the club at the end of the season.
