Sam Stubbs is with a new club following his loan stint at Hamilton, with Middlesbrough opting to send him abroad.
Stubbs was a star for Accies in the first half of this term, featuring regularly in the heart of their defence. He’s someone they will do well to replace quality wise following his impressive displays.

Boro recalled him recently though and he’s already departed the Riverside again. Son of former Hibs manager, Alan, Stubbs is now in Holland with ADO Den Haag.
Stubbs is swapping Rice for Pardew after Middlesbrough recall
It’ll be Eredivisie football for Stubbs instead of Premiership experience. It should be a good test for him and Stubbs could face teams like Feyenoord and PSV before the season is finished.
He’s taken to Twitter to thank his former adopted club. In a short tweet, Stubbs said: “Would like to say a massive thank you at Accies. I thank all the fans for their support throughout the year and wish the manager/staff and the lads nothing but the best for the rest of the season.”

It won’t be Brian Rice he works with, but Stubbs will work with a familiar UK boss. Alan Pardew is the Den Haag manager and will oversee the Boro defender’s development until the summer.
This news leaves Accies scrambling for a new defensive option after a big blow at the back.
