Arsenal star Kieran Tierney has urged Scotland to find their shooting boots in Israel after a 1-0 defeat to Slovakia.
The Arsenal man was one of three men, the other two Ryan Christie and John McGinn, to start on Sunday after finding themselves in Steve Clarke’s XI last Thursday.

That was a massive high, beating Serbia to book tournament football for the first time since 1998 at Euro 2020. There was to be a slight comedown on Sunday though as Jan Gregus’ finish saw Scotland fall to defeat.
It was a first taste of that in over a year but that didn’t help things on a day Scotland could have secured promotion to Nations League group A. The Arsenal full-back has reflected on the defeat.
“To come away with nothing was harsh on us,” said Tierney (SFA). “I thought we created chances and played well. You couldn’t fault us apart from the lack of goals. You are only as good as your last game and this was the next one. We don’t want to live off a couple of days ago forever.

“It was a great achievement and the nation gave us all the credit we deserved. But we wanted to go out and win and didn’t do that. We were playing with confidence. We pressed well and were unlucky.
“They are a good team, they played well from the back and beat our press a couple of times, which got them their goal. It’s something we need to learn from. We can’t dwell on it too long as we have another big one on Wednesday.
“We’ll go and give it our best shot and we can do well if play the way we did today and hopefully be a bit more clinical.”
