Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet has confirmed talks are underway over a new contract after he was linked with an Easter Road exit over the summer amid reports of a £5million swoop for the Scotland international
Swansea City and Celtic were both linked with a move for the former Dunfermline star but Nisbet insists it was nothing more than speculation as he looks to get his future sorted and tie him down to the Hibees long-term.

Nisbet only has three goals to his name so far this season but is hoping he can change that soon, starting with tonight’s League cup quarter-final against Dundee United at Tannadice.
The striker thinks the Cabbage should be aiming for trophies this season and believes they have a chance to rectify their poor performances in the cups last season by booking a trip to Hampden in November.
“We are still in talks just now. Speculation happens in every single window. But it was just speculation,” Nisbet said.
“I’m happy to stay at Hibs, we have something good going on here and I’m really happy to be a Hibs player. Hopefully, the contract can get sorted soon. It helps settle your mind. As soon as that gets sorted then I can look forward.
“Over the last number of years Hibs have got to semi-finals and finals so it’s expected of us. It’s up to us to go and do it now.
“We expect it of ourselves. A club like Hibs should be aiming for trophies, why not? We did very well last season with the same group of players, we have made a few additions but we have a great core.
“It’s a massive club so we should be aiming to win trophies but you need to earn the right to do that and we didn’t last season. That’s just being blunt.
“This season is a chance to rectify that.”
