Scotland have discovered their fate for the 2022 World Cup qualifying matches as the draw for this round is concluded.
Steve Clarke’s men avoided some of Europe’s top seeds, landing a group with Denmark, Austria, Israel, Faroe Islands and Moldova await a Scotland side skippered by Liverpool star Andy Robertson and possessing quality from the Premier League and beyond.

Riding high from November when those from Arsenal, Aberdeen Liverpool, Manchester United, Motherwell and beyond secured Euro 2020 qualification next summer, attention turns to World Cup 2022.
The tournament will be held in Qatar. From the European qualifiers, 10 group winners will qualify for the finals, which will take place from 21 November to 18 December 2022.
10 group runners-up will go into the play-offs in March 2022, joined by the two best group winners of the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League that haven’t qualified directly for the final tournament as European Qualifiers group winners, or already in these play-offs via the runners-up spot.

Nations League entry is something that will allude Scotland this time, as they failed to win League B following defeats to Slovakia and Israel in the last two matches.
A runners-up spot is the minimum Scotland need to get into those play-offs spots for a chance to go to a first World Cup since 1998. Scotland have landed in Group F.
Avoiding big guns like Germany and Spain, Denmark are the top seeds in Scotland’s groups. Other teams joining Clarke’s are Austria, another match with Israel, Faroe Islands and Moldova. Here is Scotland’s group in its entirety.
