Scotland and Manchester United star Scott McTominay has suffered an injury this week.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the midfielder and fellow engine room battler Paul Pogba will miss the Southampton v Manchester United match on Sunday.

The pair didn’t train ahead of the Saints match and now Scotland’s midfielder-turned defender will most likely miss the contest.

“Scott and Paul, they didn’t train this morning,” said Solskjaer at his pre-match press conference. “They were not on the grass so they are very unlikely for the weekend.”

McTominay has been a regular for club and country this term, slotting in at centre-back for Steve Clarke’s Scotland. He helped the nation achieve Euro 2020 qualification with victory over Serbia earlier this month.

On the domestic scene he has featured seven times in the Premier League. McTominay is the latest Scottish international to go down injured, Kenny McLean tearing his meniscus recently too.
