Premier Sports have selected their ties for coverage of the Scottish Cup third round, with Celtic v Arbroath or Falkirk and Rangers v Cove Rangers the chosen matches.

The Scottish Cup will be played to a finish this season after it was announced earlier this week that it will return on March 23rd after a suspension in January due to Covid-19. Last season’s final between Celtic and Hearts was only played in December after the tournament was moved back after last season’s shutdown.

League One and Two clubs are returning to league action alongside the Scottish Cup, in which some Highland League teams will be allowed to prepare for the matches. Premier Sports have selected their games ahead of the third round on the weekend of April 3rd.

Celtic v Arbroath/Falkirk is chosen, the Red Litchies and Bairns to meet in round two in order to decide who plays the glamour tie at Parkhead. Meanwhile, Falkirk’s League One rivals Cove Rangers travel to Rangers in a great tie for Paul Hartley’s team.

Clubs left in the tournament will be looking to stop Celtic dominance in the competition, the Hoops having won four Scottish Cup trophies in succession. It’ll be a quick turnaround for the Scottish Cup this year, with the final set to be played on May 22nd.
