Hearts have announced the departure of Sean Clare as he leaves Gorgie for Oxford United.
Despite the Jambos’ relegation last season, Clare was one player who fought hard to convince the support he was worthy of the maroon jersey. After initially struggling at Tynecastle, he solidified himself as a good player.

Capable of playing just about anywhere, Clare played full-back, midfield and even in more advanced areas of the pitch for Craig Levein and Daniel Stendel. He leaves now though for Oxford United as Hearts gear up for life in the Championship under Robbie Neilson.
He’s signed a three-year deal with The U’s after 71 first-team appearances in the SPFL. Clare is the latest Jambo to leave the club after Bobby Burns departed for AFC Barrow earlier this week.
Aaron Hickey has been strongly linked with Italian side Bologna and German giants Bayern Munich whilst Conor Washington has been linked with moves back to the EFL. So far, Neilson has brought Craig Gordon back to Gorgie whilst Peter Haring nears a return to full fitness after over a year out.
