Hearts striker Sean Clare thinks there will still be places up for grabs in Craig Levein’s Scottish Cup final starting XI – and is confident his team-mates will do “anything” to force their way into his plans when they face Celtic in a dress-rehearsal tomorrow.

The Jambos head across the M8 for the first of two trips to Glasgow in the coming week as the curtain comes down on the Scottish Premiership campaign and Celtic are presented with the league trophy.

Next weekend it’s Hampden for the cup final and Clare thinks it’s “probably unlikely” that Levein has picked his team already – and thinks that should ensure a good performance at Celtic Park tomorrow.

“Whoever plays will go out to do their best and make it difficult for the gaffer,” Clare said at the Jambos’ Oriam training base.

I don’t know if he’s picked the team already, it’s probably unlikely, so anything you can do to get yourself in that team is what we will try to do.

“So that should ensure we have a good performance on Sunday because everyone will be up for it.”

Hearts will likely feature a much-changed side tomorrow with Levein admitting that a number of senior stars could miss the final next weekend.

Seeing Celtic get presented the league trophy will no doubt serve as some motivation for the Jambos who will be desperate to have their own moment in the sun next weekend and book a place in Europe.
