Shaun Want knows Hamilton will face a tough test against Rangers- but he insists it would be the ideal way to get into the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.
Accies host Rangers at 12:31 this afternoon as they look to deliver some cup magic. A spirited performance against Celtic last weekend shows Brian Rice’s men can live with the likes of Steven Gerrard’s side.

Want’s never faced Rangers and he’s eager for the challenge. He is also very aware that a cup run would not only bring the club closer together, but the whole town of Hamilton.
A big test stands between them and a quarter-final berth. With a good gameplan though, Want says there’s no ‘better way’ of progressing into the next round by claiming one of Scotland’s biggest scalps.
“It’s a tough run of games so it’s all about resting up and getting ready for the next game,” said Want. “We’ve not had a cup run in a while and we know it’s a big test against Rangers.

“This will be my first experience of facing Rangers so hopefully if I’m picked I can do my best and enjoy the experience. We have a gameplan to get at them so as long as we’re defensively strong we can hopefully get into the next round.
“We’ll soon see if I have problems dealing with Alfredo Morelos! I know what a cup run would bring to the whole town, not just the players. For the fans it would be good to give them a cup run.
“There’s no better way to get into the next round than beating Rangers.”
