Aberdeen just about made it through to the second round of Europa League qualifiers with another 2-1 win over RoPS. A stoppage time strike from Lewis Ferguson sealed progression for the Dons.
Ash Taylor deputised at centre-back in place of the injured Mikey Devlin. Taylor had an absolute nightmare on his return to Dons action.

He looked slow and seen RoPS’ opening strike deflect off him on the way into Joe Lewis’ goal. That wasn’t even the worst part of his performance, which sums how bad he was against the Finnish side.
Some Aberdeen fans have reacted to his performance.

How will Taylor recover from another horror Aberdeen debut?
His first Dons league debut wasn’t exactly one to savour either. His terrible pass back to his goalkeeper was intercepted by Dundee United forward Ryan Dow who went on to score as Aberdeen lost 3–0 to the Tangerines.

This was even worse. The thing that summed up his night was that he managed to take a throw in and put it out for an RoPS shy. Overall this is just a game to write off for the Welshman.
He wasn’t the only bad performer. Scott McKenna hardly covered himself in glory either and Sam Cosgrove wasn’t at the races all game. Sure he scored a penalty but his overall play was poor.
Aberdeen are clearly rusty and are still warming up after the start of the competitive campaign. The introductions of Craig Bryson, Greg Leigh and Funso Ojo should freshen them up a bit.

As for Taylor, he has to make big improvements. He’s started his second Dons spell terribly and it’s up to him to prove he can become decent player for the Red Army.
