Aberdeen have managed to earn a very good point on the road this weekend, drawing with Rangers 0-0 at Ibrox.

Alfredo Morelos missed a big chance for Rangers but overall the Dons matched their Govan foes. They too had good opportunities to score but Derek McInnes will head back to the Granite City very happy indeed.

With Motherwell’s defeat to Livingston too, the gap between the Well in third and Aberdeen in fourth has been reduced. The Dons now sit three points off the Steelmen.

It’s a confidence boosting result following a 0-0 draw with St Mirren last week. Fans chanted for McInnes’ exit in that encounter but a result against the Gers will surely ease at least some of last week’s pressure.

Taking this type of performance, added with a couple of goals, could see Aberdeen return to third on Wednesday. They take on St Johnstone at home whilst Motherwell face champions Celtic at Fir Park.

Some Aberdeen fans have been left thrilled with their team following a positive visit to Rangers.
