There was good news for Arsenal and Scotland fans on Monday night when Kieran Tierney returned from injury. The left-back had missed Arsenal’s game against Crystal Palace with a muscle injury. However, he was back in the team against Newcastle, and played well in a 3-0 victory.
Arsenal fans would have been concerned that Tierney could have been out of action for while after suffering the injury, as he has been such an important player since joining from Celtic.
Played entire 90 minutes
Thankfully that isn’t the case, and the 23-year-old played the entire game for Mikel Arteta’s side. It will be interesting to see if Tierney starts Arsenal’s next game. That is an FA Cup tie against Southampton on Shrewsbury.
Perhaps some fans will want the player rested to make sure he doesn’t suffer another injury. However, for Arsenal to have the best chance of winning the game then you imagine that Tierney will get the nod to start the game.
However, one thing that some Arsenal fans on social media can agree on is that they were happy to see Tierney return against Newcastle.
One fan suggests 10-year contract
One fan even demanded that Tierney should be given a 10-year contract at Arsenal. Another suggested that it showed how important a player Tierney was for the club that he wasn’t taken off even when the game was won.
Perhaps it is no surprise that Arsenal returned to winning ways with Tierney back in the team.
