Hibernian continued a busy January transfer window on January when the club announced the signing of former Motherwell and Columbus Crew star Chris Cadden.

The 24-year-old, who can play in the middle of the park or at right-back, has signed a two and a half year deal at Easter Road. That is the third signing that Hibernian have made so far this month.

Matt Macey and Jackson Irvine have also signed up as Jack Ross looks to build up his squad. Still, the signing of Cadden does look to be an interesting one.

One factor that might have encouraged Ross to go for the deal is that the player can play in a few positions. That will be more than useful this season. Especially as Hibernian will likely have a very busy schedule between now and the end of the season.

Cadden might well be an important player for the Easter Road club in that case. As he signed a long-term deal, Jack Ross might well have earmarked him as a player who can have a positive impact over the next few seasons.

‘Class’

Some Hibernian fans on social media gave their verdict on the singing after it had been confirmed at Easter Road. One fan described the signing as ‘class’.

Another simply wrote the words ‘thank you’. It will be interesting to see when Cadden makes his Hibernian debut. Hibernian are in action against Kilmarnock this afternoon, but it might be too soon for Cadden to make an appearance.
