Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl says the Saints will look to protect Scotland midfielder Stuart Armstrong from future injury harm.
The playmaker is in delightful form ahead of the Scotland World Cup qualifiers next month, notching an assist against Wolves on Sunday but it wasn’t to be for Southampton as they lost 2-1.

It was another solid display from their Scottish playmaker though, who recently signed a new deal with Southampton until the summer of 2024. He has three goals and three assists in the Premier League this season.
His time at St Mary’s has been disrupted by injury in spells, making 88 appearances overall since his arrival in June 2018. The most league games he has played in one season down south is 30 and Armstrong is on course to surpass that this term.
But ahead of Scotland’s qualifiers in which they will play three times in a week, Saints boss Hasenhuttl says that’s a challenge for Armstrong: “For him, it’s always a little bit of a problem (to have) three games a week.

“But when we have enough time to prepare after one game, then he’s always good. He was injured, now we must really look that he stays fit.”
