James Graham has issued a reminder to SPFL clubs that he is available after impressing on trial with Swansea.

The forward, 20, has experience in the Scottish senior leagues after loan spells at Dumbarton, Annan and Stirling Albion, scoring two goals in League Two for the Sons last season as they were promoted to League One.

He has also featured in the Lowland League for Rangers B and hit five goals for them the campaign before, but was released in the summer.

Graham had a trial spell at the Swans during which he impressed, scoring one and assisting one in a bounce game, but they were unable to offer him a deal for reasons outwith his control.

So he is still on the lookout for a new club and any side can snap him up on a free transfer.

Graham open to SPFL or England move

The youngster is very much looking to keep his options open. Having had that taste with the English Championship side, he would love a chance at another side down south.

But he also enjoyed playing mens’ football in the Scottish lower leagues and sees that as beneficial to his development too, so would be up for anything that could arise there too.

Speaking exclusively to Not the Old Firm, he said: “Down south would be good. If I was to stay in Scotland I’ve obviously played men’s football before having come from the Lowland League to my loans last year. And I really enjoyed that.

“I’m open to anything! I’d happily stay in Scotland playing men’s football but going down south it would let you play the under-21s league and still develop a bit more.

“I’d like to stick around in men’s football. The younger you play there, the more you develop. It’s an open book.”

Swansea trial ‘wasn’t to be’

Graham KNEW he had performed well during his trial spell at Swansea, but still a deal wasn’t forthcoming. He has been able to stay level-headed about the fact there was nothing more he could have done.

He added: “I was down at Swansea a couple of weeks ago and did well. I scored and got an assist in one of the games. Unfortunately they came back and said no but it wasn’t down to me, I knew myself I had done well, it just wasn’t meant to be.

“Before that Rangers were good with me and let me train so Davie phoned and said I could come in. They’ve helped me with that side of things. Swansea is still a big, big team. I went down and really enjoyed it but that doesn’t mean that wherever I end up next will be the same story. It’s exciting to get going somewhere.”
