St Johnstone are reportedly set to add their sixth signing of the January transfer window as they close in on a deal for Canadian international Theo Bair.

According to The Courier, Callum Davidson’s side will add the Vancouver Whitecaps striker to their squad ahead of tomorrow’s deadline on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

St Johnstone have already signed Dan Cleary, Tony Gallacher, Nadir Ciftci, John Mahon and Melker Hallberg this month as they look to climb the table.

The Ottawa-born striker recently spent time on loan in Norway, helping HamKam win promotion having falling down the pecking order at the Caps.

Saints boss Callum Davidson hinted a new arrival was imminent earlier this week, saying: “We are looking for another striker and hopefully we will have one, if not two new players before the window closes.

“The attacking side of it are the difficult ones to do but we need someone to give us a bit more impetus up front.

“We are working hard to get someone through the door.”

St Johnstone face Livingston on Tuesday night and it could be the chance for Bair to make his debut – if a deal gets done to bring him to McDiarmid Park.
