St Johnstone left-back Scott Tanser has disclosed that he thought he was going to be out of action for the rest of the season after picking up a knee injury in the recent game against Aberdeen.
The 26-year-old lasted only five minutes of the game on Boxing Day before he was forced off. However, after missing only one game he was back on bench for the game against Ross County. He is available for selection for today’s game against Dundee United.
At first though, Tanser feared that the injury was going to be a serious one.
“Thought that was it”
“I honestly thought that was it for the season and that was going to be me preparing for next season” he said (The Courier).

“I watched it back, and it looked even worse than I remember, I am going to count myself very lucky that I’m not out for a long period of time.”
The left-back has admitted that he was concerned waiting on the results of the scan on his knee. He was relieved when the injury turned out not to be that serious.
“Very lucky”
“The scan took a day or two to come through, so it was just an anxious wait. I was just happy to be involved again straight away – I don’t think it was even a week. I was very lucky that it was just a bit of bruising, and I will just carry on now” Tanser disclosed.

Tanser has been a regular for the Saints this season. It would have been a blow if he had been out for a significant period. However, that is not the case. Callum Davidson will be more than pleased about that.
