St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin has vowed that his team will be positive as they look to complete a Glasgow double against Rangers at Ibrox this afternoon.
Goodwin’s side achieved a memorable 2-1 win at Celtic Park in January, and now they look to repeat that feat as they travel to Ibrox. He knows it won’t be easy as Rangers look for the win that will all but clinch the Premiership title, but the Saints have plenty to play for too, as a win would clinch a top six spot.

With that in mind, Goodwin has promised to take the game to the Ibrox side. He takes some confidence from the fact that his side are the only team to beat Rangers domestically this season, in the Betfred Cup.
“Very proud”
“We’ve been Rangers in the League Cup a couple of months back, and I think we’re the only team in Europe that’s been able to do that, so we’re very proud of that” he said.

Goodwin doesn’t want his team to sit in their own half and try and battle their way to a draw, he wants to play attacking football if possible at Ibrox.
“Positive mindset”
“It would make it even more special if we could go to Ibrox and get a win in the league. They’ve won every game at Ibrox in the league. There’s nobody that needs to tell us how difficult that’s going to be, but we’ll go there with a positive mindset.
“We won’t be sitting in on our own 18-yard line for 90 minutes trying to grind out a draw. We’re going to go there and take the game to Rangers, and have a go” Goodwin concluded.
