Jim Goodwin says St Mirren will fight their corner after coming out on the wrong side of an SPFL tribunal.
Following an outbreak of Covid-19 earlier in the season forced the Buddies to postpone their matches against Motherwell and Hamilton, the SPFL brought a disciplinary hearing against St Mirren.

Kilmarnock found themselves in a similar situation after their match against Motherwell was postponed. They have both been given £40,000 suspended fines and 3-0 forfeits for the games postponed.
Goodwin says St Mirren are ready to do battle: “We are extremely disappointed with the outcome. The board of directors will now decide what our next steps will be. We will fight for a better outcome.
“We’re not expecting a great deal of sympathy for the mistakes we have made but there are things that need to be looked at and maybe a bit of fairness applied.

“I’m talking about car sharing when individuals knew that wasn’t allowed. I can’t see how you can hold the club responsible for that one. I’d love to say more and we’ll take a moment later in the week to really put our case forward.
“One or two things have come out the tribunal that happened at other clubs.”
Goodwin was speaking after the Buddies drew 1-1 with 10-man Aberdeen on Saturday, results elsewhere putting them bottom of the Premiership. He says his side must improve on their finishing.

“We had enough chances to put the game out of sight but unfortunately we didn’t do that,” said Goodwin. “We have to be pleased with the way we played, the way we passed and probed – even at 11 against 11.
“In the second half we have totally dominated the game but just were not able to capitalise on the man advantage. Inevitably people will look at the opportunities we missed – and rightly so.
“We will do plenty of crossing and finishing training this week and hopefully next week we will put it right.”
