Kilmarnock have bid farewell to youngster Liam Smith, who has joined reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
The club have confirmed the news, with the 17-year-old academy product set to join the Citizens with immediate effect.
The starlet’s decision to join City comes after he had spent time training with the club while a compensation fee was being negotiated.

The news may come as a blow to Rangers and Liverpool, who were both said to be tracking the exciting winger.
The club have left details of the deal undisclosed, but it is likely that Smith has joined the English giants in a six-figure deal.
The 17-year-old never actually featured for the Ayrshire side’s first-team, but was deemed a highly rated talent within the academy.

He has made waves for the club’s U18s, helping them to next month’s Scottish Youth Cup final, and has three caps for the Scotland U17s.
With Billy Gilmour firmly in the news at the moment after breaking through with Chelsea, Smith will surely have hopes he can follow in the Scotland starlet’s footsteps and make himself known in the English game.
