Hearts captain Steven Naismith expects the club’s deadline day signings of Aaron McEneff and Gervane Kastaneer to make an impact at the Tynecastle club this season. McEneff has joined from Shamrock Rovers on a permanent deal, whilst Kastaneer arrived on loan from Coventry.

Naismith has not long to work with the duo, only a few training sessions. However, he believes that the duo already looked to have settled in nicely at Tynecastle. Indeed, he believes that both players can contribute to Hearts’ goal of winning promotion back to the Premiership.

“Settled in well”

“There’s not been that many days. Both the boys that came in on the last day have settled in very well” he said (Edinburgh Live).

“That’s probably the first thing as a player in the squad that you notice. If somebody’s quite distant and shy, it might take them a wee bit longer to get” he declared.

“But they’ve both come in and have been very comfortable, getting involved in the chat, the conversation and the laughs at training.

“Have a part to play”

“The two of them will definitely contribute. Whether that’s this coming weekend or in the coming weeks, they’ll have a part to play” Naismith believes.

Kastaneer in particular will be hoping to make a quick impression at the club, as he is on loan. A good start for him at Tynecastle could perhaps see Hearts consider making his loan move a permanent one.

Hearts are in action tonight, as they take on Ayr United aiming to maintain their comfortable lead at the top of the Championship table. It will be interesting to see if either of the new signings feature in the game.
