Steven Pressley is back in football as the former Celtic and Hearts ace is announced as Brentford’s head of individual development.
The London club are chasing promotion to the Premier League and will contest the Championship play-offs this season. Pressley’s son, Aaron, currently plays with the Bees but his dad has joined behind the scenes as the former Celtic and Hearts man gets back into football.
He has been involved in punditry work since leaving the manager role at Carlisle United but will begin his new post on July 1. Pressley is a well-known Scottish football figure following his lengthy stints with Celtic, Dundee United, Hearts and Rangers.
Pressley’s new job is described as ‘providing insight into individual player development, both at the club and also through loan periods.’ The new recruit has also managed Falkirk and Cypriot side Pafos FC while he assisted George Burley for Scotland.
