Dunfermline signed Kerr McInroy on loan from Celtic just hours before their pre-season friendly with Spartans – and he’s already made a Pars impact.
A captain of the Celtic Reserve squad, McInroy has left Parkhead for East End Park on a season-long loan. He’s the latest Pars arrival this summer, following the signings of Kevin O’Hara, Declan McManus, Steven Whittaker, Paul Watson and Iain Wilson, alongside the returns of Owain Fon Williams and Dom Thomas.

McInroy trained with Celtic’s first-team during pre-season but moves to his local club for experience. He’s started in some style too, scoring twice from the bench as Dunfermline beat Lowland League Spartans 3-0.
The Celtic prospect is the latest to swap Glasgow for Dunfermline, Jonathan Afolabi making the switch last season before the COVID-19 shutdown curtailed much of the Irishman’s experience in Fife.
Speaking before McInroy’s pre-season friendly double, Crawford says he is pleased to get a prospect such as the versatile Pars fan through the door.
“It is great that we have managed to get in Kerr McInroy from Celtic,” said Crawford. “He will be a welcome addition. He is very highly thought of, he has been away with Celtic over the pre season and he is a local lad who is very keen to come to Dunfermline as well.
“It says a lot that you have somebody who has been in and around the Celtic first team over the summer who wants to go out and play competitive football. He does come on the back of having an injury but he has recovered from that and Celtic see it as a good fit to get him out challenging to play Championship football.
“In some of the footage that we have watched of him he has got a finish on him from long range. That is a skill, and an art in itself but it is not just a case of putting his foot through the ball and hoping for the best, there are a lot of cultured finishes in there.”
