Dunfermline made a significant signing on Monday when Crystal Palace starlet Scott Banks joined the club on loan until the end of the season.
Banks has yet to make the breakthrough into the Palace first-time. However, that hasn’t stopped Dunfermline making a move for the 19-year-old, who joined the London club from Dundee United.
Dunfermline manager Stevie Crawford was delighted to sign the player. He explained what the player will bring to the team going forward.
“We like the fact”
“We like the fact that he can play in a number of positions. He is adaptable, he can play in wide areas, he can play in off the striker and I think he will add quality to help the team” he said.
Crawford also feels that the addition of Banks will help to freshen up the team. It could allow him to rotate Dunfermline’s attacking options.
“It is going to be a difficult season. And to get Scott over the line will provide good competition for players. At times, we are asking players time and time again. But sometimes especially when you are playing in that attacking third and looking for that wee bit of creativity and spark.
“Freshen that up”
“You go through lulls during the season so to freshen that up is not having a go at anybody or saying that we are disappointed, it is just to give up options” Crawford concluded.
Banks could make his Dunfermline debut on Saturday. The Pars travel to Tynecastle to take on Hearts in a top of the table Championship clash.
