Raith Rovers will land Stoke City forward Ethon Varian on loan ahead of the cinch Championship season (Courier).
The young striker is set to leave Stoke City to gain senior experience, having impressed at youth level for the English Championship club. Varian featured as a trialist in Rovers’ 3-1 pre-season friendly defeat to Hibs on Friday.
He will leave Stoke City for Kirkcaldy on a season-long loan move. The Republic of Ireland striker – who has represented his nation at youth level – scored nine goals in 33 appearances for Stoke’s U23s side in Premier League 2 over the last couple of seasons.
Rovers manager John McGlynn is preparing his side for another season in the Championship, having performed excellently last term, following their League One title win in 2020. Varian will be added a list of attacking options that includes James Keatings, Dario Zanatta, Lewis Vaughan and Matej Poplatnik.
