Ayr United must use their win against Dundee to really kick into form according to Mark Kerr.
The Honest Men have been inconsistent this term and player-manager Kerr hasn’t been shy in his displeasure. But he was certainly pleased at the weekend as they beat Dundee 2-0.

It moves them into fourth place in the Championship, the play-off spots places Ayr have gotten used to in recent years. Kerr says he asked for more from his side following a 1-1 draw with Stranraer.
He certainly got his response on Saturday: “I could go through everyone in the team and give them praise as I thought they were outstanding.
“We asked them to give us a bit more in forward areas and we got the response. We sat down and looked at it and realised we have to start treating the season like we’re in November.

“It’s no use treating it like we’re just four or five games in because things are a lot different this year. It’s so tight the league that if a result goes the wrong way then you’re kind of feeling it a wee bit.
“I don’t feel pressure, but I do feel pressure in that I have a job to do and I need to do to well. We need to win games to please everybody, whether that’s the board or the
fans or just the boys as a group.
“We want to go to work and enjoy it so results allow us to do that and that’s the main thing . We’ve got to build on this but I’m sure we will.”
