Airdrieonians star Thomas Robert won’t be leaving the club in the January transfer window. (Daily Record.)
The 20-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs, including Celtic, Rangers and Dundee United. However, with League One currently suspended, the player’s agent Paul Tait has suggested that teams will wait until the summer to move for Robert.
“Would have been good”
“It’s unfortunate the league is off until February. It would’ve been good for Thomas to get more game time during January” he said.

“Not much has been happening and clubs can’t get the opportunity to watch players, so it’s looking like it might be the summer until the right deal comes up” he concluded.
Robert has been in excellent form for the League One side so far this season. In 14 games, the winger has scored four goals, and has two assists.
Caught the eye of clubs
That form has caught the eye of plenty of clubs. However, it looks as if Robert won’t be on the move until the summer. Interestingly, the player’s contract expires at the end of the season.

Therefore, clubs are able to talk to the player to set up a possible pre-contract agreement. It will be interesting to see if that happens over the next few weeks.
For now though, the player is currently in limbo, as he waits for news on the return of League One football. Robert will no doubt be hoping that the game gets the thumbs up to return soon. As will those club that are interested in singing him.
