Aberdeen assistant manager Tony Docherty thinks Dons central defender Scott McKenna “loves” defending and admitted that the Scotland international is a “top boy” with a “fantastic” attitude.
The 22-year-old has consistently impressed for the Pittodrie side and Docherty thinks he must be a “difficult” opponent for strikers.

Doc also thinks his call-up to the Scotland squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers is his “reward” for his performances and attitude every day.
“He’s a top boy,” said Docherty, as quoted by BBC Scotland.
“He loves defending. He’s a difficult opponent because he just wants to keep that ball out his net and keep it out his six-yard box. His attitude every day to training is fantastic and boys like that get their rewards.

“I thought we had a very, very strong performance on Saturday against Celtic, particularly in the second half when we carried a real goal threat as well as being good defensively.”
McKenna has made 29 appearances for the Dons this season and will be hoping to help them reach the Scottish Cup final after knocking Rangers out in the last round.

Derek McInnes’ side will face Celtic at Hampden next month for the chance to take on Hearts or Inverness Caley Thistle in the showpiece final.
After losing to the Hoops in the League Cup final earlier in the season, it would be the ideal chance to get some revenge as well as ending Celtic’s dreams of an unprecedented triple treble.
