Tony Watt has signed an extended contract with Motherwell until the summer of 2022.

The striker has had his fair share of clubs since leaving Celtic, never staying in one team for longer than a year. He’s settled in at Motherwell though and has signed a long-term extension at Fir Park.

Watt featured at the weekend as Motherwell lost 4-1 to Celtic, putting in another good shift despite the scoreline suggesting a convincing defeat. The 26-year-old had chances but it wasn’t to be against his former side.

Since arriving at Motherwell at the start of 2020, Watt has played 20 times with six goals, really hitting form this term.

“I’m delighted to have signed another deal,” said Watt. “The club have been great with me and I was really keen to stay longer. I’m settled and I feel like I am getting better and better here.

“We will keep pushing Tony to be the best he can be, and I am sure he also will continue to work hard now he sees what he’s capable of.”
