Kazaiah Sterling has arrived at Greenock Morton on loan from Tottenham Hotspur – and he says a familiar face helped him swap North London for Cappielow.
The striker has arrived in the Scottish Championship until the end of the season. He has had previous loan spells away from Tottenham Hotspur, the furthest north being Sunderland. But this will be a fresh experience for the forward who has one senior Spurs appearance to his name.

Morton’s boss, Anton McElhone, spent 10 years at Tottenham between 2007 and 2017 as a youth fitness coach before moving up to senior level. That connection has helped bring Sterling to Scotland
The Tottenham youngster said: “The move came about through Anton McElhone the gaffer and it went from there basically. I worked with him there in my younger years at Spurs. I hope to bring goals and attacking threat.
“I like to play on the shoulder and get behind defences, I would say that’s my specialty. This is the furthest I have gone up north. Sunderland was quiet a big change for me but this is a totally different experience.

“The Champions League was an amazing experience. It was unreal, the fans, the atmosphere. I can play through the middle but I can also play on either side. Hopefully the Morton fans see loads of goals and entertainment.
