Hearts striker Uche Ikpeazu has admitted that it has been “frustrating” not scoring since his return from injury – but hopes he can “go on a run” after ending his drought in the Scottish Cup replay with Partick Thistle.
Ikpeazu levelled the scored after Scott McDonald’s opener before later missing a woeful penalty as Hearts booked their place in the semi-finals.

The former Cambridge United ace insists that Craig Levein and his Hearts staff have been brilliant with him, letting him know they still have faith in his ability.
“Not scoring has been frustrating although I feel I’ve been getting back to my best over the last few games. It’s good to get on the score sheet and hopefully, I can go on a run,” Ikpeazu told Edinburgh Live.

“The gaffer and coaching staff and all the physios have been brilliant to me and always let me know they believe in me even when I haven’t been scoring goals.”
Ikpeazu missed four months through injury and hadn’t hit the net since scoring the only goal of the game against Kilmarnock back in August.

With Hearts battling for a place in Europe and the chance to get their hands on some silverware in the Scottish Cup, it’s a great time for the striker to get back scoring.
Steven Naismith’s injury layoff means the Jambos need someone to step up and Ikpeazu might just be the one Levein needs to fire his side to success.
