West Ham United have shown interest in Dundee United’s Kerr Smith as transfer speculation surrounding the 16-year-old Scottish Premiership starlet continues (Sun).
The transfer window shuts on Tuesday and clubs are making their final purchases ahead of the deadline. Smith has been linked with a move away from Tannadice all summer and West Ham United are next to be rumoured.
David Moyes’ West Ham United reportedly want Smith in London for talks and Dundee United have already had several approaches over the centre-back from various clubs. He featured in a handful of games under previous head coach Micky Mellon and is involved in first-team plans under current boss Thomas Courts.
If someone like West Ham United want one of Scottish football’s brightest talents this summer, they will have to move imminently. Dundee United lost 2-0 to Hearts in their most recent league match ahead of the international break.
Courts said: “I’m disappointed by the result but not disappointed by the performance. Hearts probably had a little bit more control without really cutting us open. At half-time the boys still retained a strong belief that we could get back into the game but we found an inspired Craig Gordon in goal for Hearts.”
