Hearts fans are still hoping for an announcement for confirmation of Tony Bloom’s investment in the club.
The English entrepreneur, owner of Premier League side Brighton, is looking to become a minority shareholder in the Scottish Premiership to add them to his portfolio of clubs which includes Belgians Union Saint-Gilloise.
Hearts already have a partnership with Jamestown Analytics, Bloom’s data analysis company which they are using for player recruitment and other areas like opposition analysis.
The Jambos hope use of the data can help them challenge Celtic and Rangers at the top of the Premiership but another thing that would help with that would be some investment.
It has been claimed Bloom would plan to pump £10million into the club and the last update from Hearts stated talks were still underway in November.
Following that, the Foundation of Hearts pushed through a vote which would make it easier for the businessman to buy shares in the club.
It’s all set up to happen but there has been no update in months.
Bloom buys stake in Melbourne Victory and explains why
Bloom has now bought a stake in A-League side Melbourne Victory, becoming a minority shareholder like he is in USG.
He has taken a 19.1 per cent holding in the Aussie club and it has been stated there is scope for him to extend that further down the line.
It is hoped a similar announcement will come at Tynecastle in the first part of this year.
Bloom told the Victory website: “As a passionate football supporter, I am excited to have the opportunity to become a shareholder in Melbourne Victory, one of the most successful clubs in A-League history.
“My investment reflects my confidence in the club’s vision and leadership, and I see tremendous potential in the club for further growth and success, both on and off the pitch.
“My wife is from Australia and, whenever possible, the two of us and our children enjoy spending time there each year. I am especially delighted that we now have a ‘home club’ in Australia to support. The club’s leadership know that I am available to them whenever needed to help in driving continued progress and success for Melbourne Victory.”
What Hearts have said about Bloom
Back in November, a Hearts spokesman said: “Tony Bloom has expressed an interest in investing in the club and becoming a minority shareholder.
“The discussions between club and Bloom’s representatives are ongoing. As soon as there is anything definitive to announce the club will make a statement.”
