Former Aberdeen captain and manager Willie Miller has urged his side to put pressure on Celtic in what could be a battle for second place in the Scottish Premiership.
The current Scottish Premiership Champions are in a poor run of form, and manager Neil Lennon is under all sorts of pressure. At the moment Aberdeen sit three points behind Celtic in the league table, having played a game more.
Can draw level with current champions
However, Derek McInnes’ side can draw level on points with a win over St Mirren on Saturday. Celtic aren’t in action until they play Ross County on Sunday.

Miller wants to see Aberdeen put pressure on Neil Lennon’s side, starting with getting three points against St Mirren.
“The focus has got to be on maintaining third spot in the Premiership as well as trying to get closer to Celtic when they are looking very fragile” he said (Evening Express).
“A target to put pressure on”
“Third in the Premiership is where Aberdeen should be on the strength of the squad, but they should still be looking to put pressure on the teams above them, particularly with Celtic struggling right now. That should be a target to put pressure on the Hoops and get closer to them” Miller said.

“The Dons need to respond strongly in the Premiership. This month they face St Mirren, Kilmarnock, Motherwell and Livingston away from home with Ross County and St Johnstone visiting Pittodrie, and although not easy, they are all winnable games” he concluded.
