St. Johnstone return could be perfect for O’Halloran

A return to St. Johnstone would be the perfect fit for Michael O’Halloran after the striker left Melbourne City after only six months.

According to the Scottish Sun, O’Halloran failed to settle in Australia and has returned to Scotland.

He managed only three appearances from the bench for City – once in the league and twice in the FFA Cup.

Despite failing to make any impact in Australia or at Rangers, Saints have managed to get the best out of O’Halloran.

An impressive initial spell in Perth earned him a move to Ibrox before doing well on loan at McDiarmid Park after struggling to get in the team at Rangers.

Tommy Wright’s side have had a solid first-half of the season and O’Halloran could help them push for European football.

Currently sixth in the table, Saints are only four points behind fourth-placed Aberdeen with a game in hand.

The former Bolton youth scored 22 times and contributed 17 assists in 108 games for the Saints over two spells.

There would likely be competition forhis signature but a return to Perth could appeal to all parties.

The prospect of O’Halloran and Tony Watt leading the line for Tommy Wright’s side is one that will surely have Saints fans excited.
