There’s concern for Arsenal and Scotland star Kieran Tierney after he limped off at the weekend on his return to domestic duty.
The left-back was subbed at half-time in the contest against Liverpool, Arsenal going on to lose 3-0. But one of the most concerning matters over this game was the injury to Tierney.
He has been sensational for club and country this term, Arsenal fans hailing him as their future captain while Tierney is off the back of a brilliant three-game run for Scotland. Fans, pundits and players alike have all hailed him as one of the best players Scotland has.
But everyone is navy blue will be worried as Tierney limped off with what appeared to be a knee injury. Given Euro 2020 – Scotland’s first major tournament since 1998 – is just around the corner in over eight weeks time, manager Steve Clarke will hope it isn’t a serious blow.
It would be a particularly bitter pill to swallow considering the injury problems Tierney had disrupt his first season at Arsenal, making his national team return in September 2020 after over a year off Scotland duty.
