Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Billy Dodds has been left pleased with the signings of veteran Michael Gardyne and Norwich City talent Reece McAlear.

Gardyne arrives from Highland rivals Ross County, where the winger is arguably the club’s best-ever player after over 300 appearances and seven trophies. McAlear meanwhile comes in from Norwich  City, with the English Premier League club sending him to the cinch Championship for experience.

Dodds said of the duo: “Reece is an athletic midfielder with a great range of passing and we’re delighted to add competition to our midfield. Norwich City paid a high fee for him to take him from Motherwell so he is well thought of at Norwich City.

“We’re absolutely delighted that Michael has joined us. I worked with Michael at Ross County for three years, so I know what he brings. There were a number of clubs trying to get Michael to sign on his departure from our neighbours and at least two of those are competitors of ours so I am doubly pleased he is here now.”
