Leeds United captain Liam Cooper and Aberdeen stalwart Andy Considine are battling it out for a place in Steve Clarke’s 26-man Scotland squad for Euro 2020 (Scottish Sun).
While both have been regular picks in squads when fit in the last 12 months under Clarke, neither have held down a regular starting berth. The Leeds United captain has five caps for his country while Aberdeen man Considine has three.

Clarke has used different options in defence, including Scott McTominay moving from midfield into the 3-5-2 system while Oostende centre-back Jack Hendry entered the squad in the last camp. Leeds United man Cooper missed the last international squad due to injury. Clarke will announce his squad for Euro 2020 on Wednesday.
Cooper and Considine are now said to be battling each other for a place in the final 26. Leeds United will finish in the top half of the Premier League in their first season back since promotion from the Championship under Cooper’s captaincy while Considine helped Aberdeen to a fourth placed finish in the Scottish Premiership.
