It’s not one he will be able to shake off either, Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce confirming he’ll miss all of Scotland’s upcoming matches with a hamstring problem.

A cruel blow for Fraser, he had impressed in the last three matches for Steve Clarke’s side. He will now miss a crucial Euro 2020 play-off final match against Serbia in which Scotland could seal tournament football for the first time since 1998.

Clarke will be hoping this isn’t the start of more fitness issues. In the October matches, he lost seven players to Covid-19 and injury-related issues.
