Scotland manager Steve Clarke has made a number of changes for tonight’s Nations League clash with the Czech Republic – and fans are furious with the line-up.
John Fleck, Liam Cooper, Stuart Armstrong, Kenny McLean and Liam Palmer all come into the side with Ryan Jack, Kieran Tierney, James Forrest, John McGinn and Callum McGregor making way.
The national team take on a shadow Czech side in Olomouc tonight and will be hoping to wrap up the international double-header with a win to add to Friday’s draw with Israel.
After an outbreak of COVID-19 in their opponents camp, Scotland will effectively play a Czech Republic B team in the Andrův Stadium, as tonight’s Nations League hosts were forced to draft in a completely new squad from the one that beat Slovakia 3-1 on Friday.
The Czech FA initially tried to cancel the game in the wake of the Slovakia clash but intervention from UEFA saw the game go ahead despite a host of withdrawals from the squad as a result.
Only two of the remaining Czech players have ever represented their country at senior level and it has handed Scotland a fantastic opportunity to make it four points from their opening two games.
Members of the Tartan Army on Twitter are not happy with the side and were quick to question Clarke’s decision to axe half of his team from Friday.
