John Fleck has expressed his delight in signing a new deal with Sheffield United.
The Scotland international has put pen to paper on a new Blades contract that will run until the summer of 2023. He’s been a key player for Chris Wilder’s side this term during a remarkable Premier League campaign.

Fleck’s deal had 17 months left to run so the Bramall Lane club have moved to tie him down long-term. So far this season, he has made 24 Premier League appearances as Sheffield United battle for European football, currently sitting in sixth.
It’s a remarkable rise for them and Fleck has been with them all the way, signing for the Blades when they were still in League One. His Premier League form has earned him a place in Steve Clarke’s Scotland side too.
He made his debut against Russia in October before Fleck went on to cameo against Kazakhstan. With important Euro 2020 play-offs coming next month, the midfielder will surely fancy his chances of another Scotland inclusion.

Speaking to Sheffield United’s website in the meantime, Fleck says he is so happy to be committing his long-term future to the South Yorkshire club.
“It is an amazing club,” said Fleck. “It is one that I always wanted to be part of going forward. I’ve really enjoyed my time here since day one, so I didn’t see any reason why I wouldn’t want to be here at what is a really exciting time for the club.
“We have been very successful since the manager came in. Everyone has worked hard and had a good time here; it has been a great club to come to and I am delighted to be extending my stay.”
