Scotland starlet Billy Gilmour has been given a huge vote of confidence south of the border with Chelsea.
The midfielder has been used by Frank Lampard on multiple occasions this term. It has now been confirmed that the Scotland and Blues starlet will officially form a part of Lampard’s senior squad.
He will move from the youth academy into the first-team building on a full-time basis. So far this term, the teenage midfielder has made 17 appearances in senior competition.
His Premier League debut was made in August against Sheffield United and he’s started games in the Carabao Cup, including a starting berth in the match against Manchester United.
Gilmour is also a highly-rated Scotland youth international. He has made 12 appearances for the U21s so far as his development continues to go from strength to strength.
Lampard clearly rates the 18-year-old and it seems as if the sky is the limit for him at Chelsea after this recent development.
