The Scottish Cup is back and the Premiership teams got their bids to get their hands on the trophy underway – with holders St Johnstone knocked out by League Two Kelty Hearts.

After Hibs squeezed through against Cove Rangers after extra time and Rangers cruised to a 4-0 win over Stirling Albion, there were a glut of fixtures on Saturday, with Hearts beating Auchinleck Talbot 5-0 at lunchtime to book their place in the Fifth Round draw.

St Johnstone were beaten after Kallum Higginbotham’s extra-time strike brought an end to their defence of the Scottish Cup at the first hurdle and continued to pile the pressure in Callum Davidson.

Aberdeen and St Mirren cruised through with wins over Edinburgh City and Ayr United respectively, while Jack Hamilton’s hat-trick sealed a 3-0 win for Arbroath over Darvel.

Motherwell needed two late goals to save their Scottish Cup hopes after going 1-0 down to Morton in extra-time before winning 2-1 – Liam Donnelly scoring in the dying moments

Livingston won the only all-Premiership tie 1-0, beating Ross County comfortably to book their place in tonight’s draw.

Clydebank suffered late agony, conceding twice in the last few minutes of extra-time to lose 4-3 to Annan Athletic and end their hopes of continuing their cup run.

The final game of the Fourth Round got underway at 5.30 when Alloa host Celtic before the draw is made at full-time in Clackmannanshire.
