Kelty Hearts manager Kevin Thomson sparked speculation he could be on the way back to Rangers as part of the new management team at Ibrox after he posted a cryptic tweet this afternoon.
Thomson, who left a role in Rangers Academy to take charge of the Maroon Machine at the start of the season, tweeted a photo of him during his Ibrox playing career alongside a shaking hands emoji.

The image of Thomson from the UEFA Cup Final in 2008 has Rangers fans speculating he could be part of the new management team after Steven Gerrard bolted down the M6 at the first opportunity.
Thomson’s Kelty have had a fantastic start to the season, winning ten and drawing three to go unbeaten so far and top League Two in their debut campaign in the SPFL.
While it seems unlikely Thomson is on the way back to Ibrox for a third spell, his tweet has set tongues wagging among the Rangers support who would love to see Thomson head back to Glasgow’s south side.
The likelihood is his Kelty side played a bounce game against Rangers’ non-international players and, amidst the ongoing search for a manager at Ibrox, Thomson decided to have a little bit of fun.
Or maybe he is on his way back to Rangers, months after taking the hotseat at New Central Park and replacing former Gers teammate Barry Ferguson in charge of the Maroon Machine.
Either way, Thomson’s tweet has created plenty of attention.
