Aberdeen have ended their ten-game winless run, beating Hibs 1-0 at Pittodrie to ease the pressure on Stephen Glass and extend Hibs’ own recent struggles.
Christian Ramirez scored the only goal of the game, netting 27 minutes in before Hibs were reduced to ten men in the dying moments when Darren McGregor was dismissed.
Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass made three changes to the side that suffered defeat at Dundee last weekend; Joe Lewis replacing Gary Woods, full-back Jack MacKenzie missing through injury and Jonny Hayes on the bench with Ross McCrorie and Marley Watkins coming in to the side.
Hibs made four changes from their own defeat last weekend – Jamie Gullan, Darren McGregor, Lewis Stevenson and Paul McGinn all coming into the side, as Nathan Wood, Josh Doig, Scott Allan and Jamie Murphy among the substitutes.
The Easter Road side failed to register a single effort on target throughout the 90 minutes and Hibs boss Jack Ross will be left scratching his head wondering what has gone wrong in recent weeks for the Hibees.
Despite their own poor form, the Aberdeen players put a real shift in for the Dons and Glass will surely be delighted after seeing his side pick up a much-needed win and end a run of five consecutive defeats.
There will be some concern at Pittodrie tonight though as both Calvin Ramsay and Declan Gallagher came off injured in a bruising opening 45 minutes.
