Bologna have signed Dutch right-back Denso Kasius, likely putting an end to their pursuit of Aberdeen star Calvin Ramsay.

The Serie A side had a £4.8million bid for Ramsay rejected by the Dons and have moved to sign the Utrecht right-back instead.

After being rebuffed by the Dons in their chase for Calvin Ramsay, the move for Kasius will likely let the Dons hierarchy breathe a little easier going into the final 24 hours of the transfer window.

There are still a host of clubs linked with an interest in Ramsay but none have made any concrete offers to Aberdeen so far with the transfer deadline tomorrow night.

If Ramsay does remain an Aberdeen when the window closes, the Dons will no doubt be bracing themselves for a fresh round of bids in the summer.

Ahead of the postponed clash with St Johnstone yesterday, Dons boss Stephen Glass had said there was nothing imminent on the cards for Ramsay as he discussed the full-back’s future.

“We’re still at the stage that I’ve not been told anything is imminent, so whether there is or isn’t any bids in it’s not close enough that it’s going to affect our team tomorrow,” Glass said.

“We’ve got players to cover different positions within the squad.

“We’ve also got targets for any eventualities so we’re always doing our work behind the scenes.”
